TURMALINE JEWELRY FROM OUR WORKSHOP
When you hold a tourmaline in your hand, you’re not just looking at a stone. You’re looking at a piece of the earth that was formed over millions of years under pressure and heat deep beneath the surface. And each one is unique. You’ll never find two that are exactly alike.
Choose a tourmaline piece from our workshop, where it’s not just about a beautiful gemstone. Wear a piece of nature that has traveled a long journey from the mountains on the other side of the world, through the jewelry-making process, to the final piece.

The value of bicolor tourmaline
Bicolor tourmalines are among the most fascinating gemstones we work with in our studio. Two colors naturally come together in a single stone—for example, pink fading into green, known as “melon tourmaline,” or blue fading into yellow. This is not an effect created by humans. It was created by nature. Every such stone is unique. The direction of the color transition, its intensity, and the boundaries between the colors are different every time. And that is precisely what gives the jewelry a character that cannot be imitated.
Color balance
- 50:50 or 60:40 → highest value
Contrast between colors
- High contrast → striking visual effect → higher price
Sharpness of the border/transition
- Clean, sharp border → prized by collectors
- Smooth transition → aesthetically pleasing, but usually less expensive
From most valuable to more common color combinations:
- pink × green (high-quality watermelon)
- red × green
- blue × green (indigolite × verdelite)
- green × yellow
- brown × green
The Journey of a Bicolor Tourmaline at the KORBIČKA Studio
Tourmaline isn’t “just a colorful stone.” It’s a gemstone with personality.
WISH
Be inspired by this example of custom jewelry, where each bicolor stone has a different shade, saturation, and depth. We’d be happy to create an original jewelry design for you and work with you to select gemstone colors that complement your personality and life story.
IMPORT
One of the regions from which we source rough tourmalines is Afghanistan. A rugged, mountainous country that harbors some of the most beautiful tourmalines in the world. The journey to find them is not easy, but that is precisely why we know exactly where the stone comes from, under what conditions it was mined, and what its potential is. From the raw crystal, we select the part with the most beautiful color and the highest clarity.
GRINDING
Cutting tourmaline is all about patience and intuition. You have to respect the crystal’s natural growth direction, color orientation, and internal structure. With bicolor stones, the goal is for the two colors to meet as beautifully as possible in the cut, creating a depth that draws you into the stone. “When it works, the stone literally comes to life in our hands.” Luboš Korbička
MANUFACTURE
Combined with hand-polishing and a unique design, the result is jewelry that is not mass-produced. Each piece is as unique as the woman who wears it.
